Golds triumph against 10-men Loxwood

LITTLEHAMPTON Football Club put four past 10-man Loxwood on Tuesday evening to continue their 100 per cent start to the new season.

Golds boss Mark Bennett said: “Obviously, they were one of the favourites as well so it’s a good result for us. Their keeper got sent off for our first goal. After a back pass, George Gaskin took the ball around him and he was pulled down. You don’t like to see players sent off, but there were no complaints.

“We are away all the time at the start of the season, so we just need as many points as we can.”

After Danny Hand fired them ahead on 34 minutes from the spot, Golds let off and Loxwood had a couple of half-chances, before Gaskin nodded home a Shay Wiggins cross on the stroke of half-time.

Gaskin added a third on 66 minutes, with another header, before Jerry Manning finished a slick passing move into the top corner from outside the area.
