Graham Potter updates fans on proposed Neal Maupay exit - 'He is considering things'

Graham Potter has confirmed that Neal Maupay is ‘considering’ his future.

French striker Maupay has been heavily linked with a move to Nottingham Forest today (Saturday, August 13).

It has been widely reported that 25-year-old Maupay will move to Forest in a permanent deal, worth £15m with add-ons included.

Speaking after Brighton’s 0-0 home draw against Newcastle United, Albion boss Graham Potter said there was ‘no update’ and ‘nothing to report’.

However, he confirmed that ‘there’s a bit of interest’ in the striker, who has been Albion’s top scorer in each of the last three Premier League seasons

"They are human beings, with families and careers,” Potter said.

“He is considering things. We'll see how it develops."

Maupay was not included in Albion's matchday squad against Newcastle at the Amex Stadium.

Asked by BBC Sussex, if he needed a replacement for Maupay, Potter said: "I wouldn't say need. We will always look at how the squad is forming and what areas we can strengthen.”
