Hassocks take a step nearer finishingthe season unbeaten

Hassocks maintained their 100 per cent record this season although with a cup final win the previous week and the title already assured, it was perhaps not surprising they struggled a little to beat a vastly-improved Meridian side 2-0.

It needed what could well be the goal of the season to break the deadlock just before half time when Liz King unleashed a 30-yard piledriver.

Hassocks were a little careless after the break but finally sealed victory with a goal by Emma Wickham.

It was their eighth clean sheet in 14 league games and this #Sunday they face a South Park side who will be intent on revenge after their cup final defeat.

Haywards Heath 2nds produced their best performance of the season to beat Seahaven 4-1.

Claudia Vogel launched her hat-trick after only two minutes and it was not long before Jinny Ursell made it 2-0. Both players were then denied by the woodwork.

After the break the woodwork again denied Ursell before Vogel struck twice in 10 minutes to complete her hat-trick.

No such joy for Heath 1sts as Leigh-anne Covey scored in their 3-1 defeat at Anchorians.
