But chairman Steve Isherwood says the main struggle will be keeping the team together.

Isherwood was named new chairman in October and heralded the return of manager Shaun Saunders.

After a poor start to the season Heath had started to put some good results together before the league was suspended at the start of November.

And now it looks inevitable the season will be ended. But what effect will that have on the Hanbury club?

“Financially we are fine but it is a case of keeping the team together as we have made massive strides and are very competitive,” said Isherwood.

"It is the fans and players that suffer most as football and the club are a massive part of their lives.

“I know mental health has been the go-to topic of the year but football really does provide a huge outlet and welcome distraction for a lot of people.”

Does Ishwerwood feel there is a chance of football returning this season? He said: “We all want football back in our lives and the season will most likely be declared null and void anytime soon.

“I don’t think we have much other option other than trying to condense the season over the summer, although we cannot with any certainty work to any dates as yet .

“The dates that have been mooted would take us pretty much up to the start of season 21/22 anyway.”
