The visitors from Kent twice went ahead, but two Horsham equalisers - a Tony Nwachukwu penalty and a first goal for Junior Kaffo - saw the match finish all square.

Both sides had the chance to snatch all three points, and though the Hornets edged the 90 minutes, they left with a seventh draw of the year - the most in the league this season.

Horsham started positively, Nwachukwu flashing a shot agonisingly wide of the post after just four minutes.

But Ramsgate struck first after ten minutes of play. Glen Woodburn, making a rare start in defence, misjudged a low cross, and Ian Pulman was granted enough time to place a shot past the fit-again Michael Hunter and into the corner.

The hosts responded well to going behind, and got the goal they deserved when Ross Morley collided with Macauley Murray - Nwachukwu blasting home the penalty.

The Hornets were on top but Ramsgate scored less than 60 seconds into the second half - Hunter parrying Pulman’s drive to Aaron Milbank, who made no mistake.

Kaffo opened his account for Horsham on 64 minutes, after Billy Dunn’s cross was knocked into the striker’s path by Hawkes, and immediately after Morley had a low shot cleared off the line.

A fifth goal seemed inevitable as both sides attacked.

Woodburn compensated for his early error with a timely last-ditch tackle to deny Pulman, and almost scored from a Billy-Joe King free kick.

Dunn brilliantly beat two players and let fly from 25 yards, only to hit the crossbar.

And the away side thought they had grabbed an 89th minute winner from a goalmouth scramble, but the goal was ruled out by the officials.

Horsham: Hunter, Hamilton, B. King, Graves, Woodburn, Morley, Nwachukwu, Harris (Akehurst 89), Dunn, Kaffo, Charman (Cade 62).
