Horsham 'desperate to get a bit of stability' for Bowers & Pitsea trip

Dominic Di Paola is ‘desperate to get a bit of stability’ in the Horsham squad going into this Saturday’s trip to Bowers & Pitsea in the Isthmian Premier Division.

The Hornets have been blighted by injuries of late, and a settled first eleven has been hard to come by for Di Paola.

Midfielder Jack Brivio and forward Rob O’Toole both suffered knocks in Horsham’s 2-0 home win over Margate in the Velocity Trophy quarter-finals a fortnight ago.

O’Toole marked his Hornets return after two weeks out against Bognor on Tuesday evening but Brivio has not featured since the quarter-final.

Lee Harding, who had struck three goals in his last five games, was only fit enough to make the bench for Saturday’s win over Potters Bar Town.

The winger wasn’t fit enough to make the squad for Tuesday’s defeat to Bognor.

Di Paola admitted an unsettled team had seriously hampered Horsham’s form of the late.

But the Hornets manager confirmed that two of the injured trio were in line to feature at 14th-placed Bowers & Pitsea.

He said: “I’m desperate to get a bit of stability again because we’ve not had any in the team the last couple of months.

“I’ve never questioned our boys’ attitude, I’ve never questioned their work rate or commitment but it kills you chopping and changing (the team) through injuries.

“But Lee Harding is good to come back in. Jack we will have to assess on Thursday.

“Rob is good to go. We’ve just got to get some minutes in him as he’s missed the last two weeks."
