Horsham FC winger set to miss rest of the season

Horsham FC winger Shiloh Remy is likely to miss the rest of the season with injury, according to manager Dominic Di Paola.

The 25-year-old joined the Hornets on loan from National League South rivals Worthing FC last month but has made just two appearances for the club.

The Saint Lucia international has not featured for Horsham since the 1-0 home defeat to Tonbridge Angels on March 14.

Di Paola revealed the Hornets had no fresh injury concerns going into tomorrow’s home clash with play-off chasing Maidstone United – but Remy had likely played his last game for the club.

The boss said: “He is probably out for the season. A bit like Soul Kader, he’s played a couple of games and gotten injured.

“It’s a big shame for him because he’s had a stinker of a season. Nothing has gone his way, and we were hoping to give him some football and a boost before the season’s out.

“He’s fallen the way a lot of the boys that have signed for us have this season – they’ve not been able to stay fit.

“It’s a real shame because we were looking forward to getting him in and seeing if he could do anything for us. Unfortunately he’s fallen the way all the others have.

“We just haven’t got anyone else. We’ve had a bit of an opportunity to rest them up a little bit and go again.

“We’ve had a week’s rest now which has helped Cookie [Charlie Hester-Cook] and one or two others.”

Ninth-placed Maidstone have been in scintillating form, winning eight of their last 10 in the National League South.

Easter Monday’s ding-dong 5-4 home victory over fifth-placed Hornchurch moved the Stones to within two points of the play-off places.

And Di Paola said Maidstone were hitting form at ‘just the right time’, and were also in ‘quite a good place’, going into their trip to West Sussex.

He added: “They had a really good result [against Hornchurch]. They’ve hit form at just the right time.

“It’s all about hitting form at the right time. You’re seeing Chesham doing it at the moment. They’re hitting form at a good time and it gives them a good chance of getting some results before the season’s up.

“They’re in quite a good place, Maidstone. They’ve come from nowhere – but that’s no bad thing if you’re a Maidstone fan.”
