I'll pick Drummy's brains on Chelsea defender Terry, says Bradley

The Reds skipper is keen to continue sitting down with the club’s new boss Dermot Drummy and pick his brains.

Drummy worked with the Premier League club’s first team, under-21 and academy players in his 10 years at the London giants.

And Bradley believes he and his team-mates would be mad not to try and learn from him.

He said: “He has worked with top players. For me he has worked with the best centre-half in this country and that’s John Terry.

“If I get chance to sit down with the manager, which I have already, I will question him and try and get as much out of him as I can because he has worked with some of the best defenders in the world.

“He is obviously a knowledgeable man and all the lads can benefit from him. It’s not just the football side, it’s the tactics and the lads would be stupid not to get a lot out of him.”

Bradley also believes having an unsettled defence and goalkeeper has hindered them this season and played a bit part in seeing them conceded 75 goals.

He said: “Definitely. The best teams in any divisions have back fours that have been together for years.

“I think it is important that you build a relationship up with your defenders. You can’t put a finger on whose fault it is, but you have players coming in and out, injuries.

“I played with a left-back and centre-half one week, the next week the left-back has been sent back to his club and the centre-half is injured.

“We then have to rebuild a completely new defence, it’s not an excuse, but I would definitely prefer to have a back four that has been together all season.”
