A first half brace from striker Leroy Hyett, either side of a Sean Bradley equaliser, was enough to hand YM their second win in three days and extend their unbeaten run in the league to six games.

YM boss Buckland, who co-founded Wanderers back in 1999, beamed: “I’m really, really happy, but I was always more concerned about getting the three points than them being against Dorking Wanderers.

“The result was better than the game if I’m honest. The pitch was really bumpy and surprisingly hard, and there was a bit of intensity because of the connection between myself and Dorking.

Hyett, who now has nine goals in six games, fired YM ahead after eight minutes, before the hosts responded through Bradley.

But four minutes later the visitors regained the lead, former Dorking striker Hyett grabbing his second with an expertly taken finish to conclude the scoring after 24 minutes.

“Everybody at their ground knows me and knows me well, and so it’s always nice to go back somewhere and get a result,” Buckland added.

Two days before on the Saturday YM had run out 5-2 winners over strugglers Chichester City. Martin Smith scored a second half brace and Hyett, Chris Williams and Scott Wason were also on target.
