The decision to leave the club of prolific striker Danny Leach - who has scored nine goals in all competitions - has been confirmed by manager Kenny McCreadie, while defensive linchpin Paul Richardson also appears to be on his way out.

The pair, who followed McCreadie to Bexhill from Hailsham Town in the summer, both missed Tuesday night’s 2-1 Sussex RUR Charity Cup second round defeat at home to Broadridge Heath.

“Danny Leach has definitely left the club and Paul Richardson also looks set to be leaving us as well,” said McCreadie, who blamed ‘politics at this level’ when asked why Leach and Richardson were leaving.

“We’ve got some good young players like Andy Brown and Daniel Smith, but I need some of the experienced boys playing.”

Bexhill are likely to be without several players for the trip to sixth-placed Haywards Heath Town in Sussex County Football League Division Two tomorrow (Saturday).
