A solid performance from the hosts won the points after a much-improved second half showing could’ve seen them score more.
Here are today’s player ratings:
9. Ashley Nadesan - 7
Square ball across the box was blocked before it reached Appiah. Another ball across the box in the second half was begging for a touch as it rolled across the face of goal. Became more involved along with the other forwards as Crawley improved massively in second half. Subbed.
10. Tom Nichols - 7
Unlucky with a well-crafted flicked header, unfortunately too tight of an angle to sneak in the near post. Great turn away from defender before hitting an audacious long distanced strike that was blocked rather than playing Appiah in. Involved well in the build-up for opener.
11. Kwesi Appiah - 8
Opened the scoring with a deft finish at the near post from Ferry’s cross. Could’ve had two others beforehand, fluffing the best chances of the first half and missing a sitter from six yards just minutes before his goal. Saw a one on one saved in final minutes which would’ve killed the game.
12. Owen Gallacher - 7
Replaced Ferry with 20 minutes to go. Broke forward early but was pushed back as Barrow went in search of the equaliser, put in good defensive challenges. (Photo by James Chance/Getty Images) SUS-220904-180113001 Photo: Getty Images Europe
