Late goals earn Pagham derby point at Chi

The home side continued to assert their dominance and create the clearer chances. Brilliant work from Dan Watts left his man for dead and he cut the ball back for Dom Taylor whose scuffed shot was brilliantly cleared off the line.

However, on 25 minutes, the away side struck as a James Temple header was brilliantly saved by home goalkeeper Dan Roberts only for the rebound to fall kindly for Max Toms who nodded in from a yard.

This galvanised the away side and they were rewarded with a second goal on 39 minutes. The lively Temple smashed home from six yards after another Roberts save from Neighbour.

A thrilling first half was rounded off on 45 minutes when Fraser Smith fired in a deflected shot for the home side following a swift break down the right.

The second half was a much tamer affair and it was the aerial presence of Temple that caused the most problems for the Chi defence.

It was this threat that earned the Lions the chance to take the lead 12 minutes from time. A handball in the penalty area presented Neighbour with the chance to score from the spot.

His kick was saved by man-of-the-match Roberts, but substitute Scott Murfin slid in to give his side the lead with time running out.

A deserved fourth was added by Neighbour with a curling effort from the edge of the box in stoppage time.
