Lean spell of matches for 1sts but good wins for youth and U21s

Burgess Hill’s lean run of fixtures continued when Wednesday’s scheduled league visit of Folkestone Invicta was postponed because the Kent club were involved in a midweek Trophy replay, which they lost on penalties at Hungerford Town.

That means Hill’s league trip to Redhill on Saturday will be their first game for more than two weeks.

Meanwhile the Under 21s secured a fine 3-1 home victory over Maidstone last week.Second-half goals by Greg Luer (2) and Spencer Slaughter avenged a convincing defeat in September. The visitors had their keeper sent off in the first half but went ahead on the half hour.

Dan Perry hit five as Hill had a superb 7-1 victory over Havant & Waterlooville in the FA Youth Cup. Perry (2),Lee Harding and Tariq Richards then earned a 4-3 win at Wingate & Finchley on Tuesday.
