Lewis Dunk frustrated by Brighton's late defeat at Cardiff

Dunk headed home his second goal in as many Premier League matches to give Brighton the lead but Callum Paterson equalised before Albion midfielder Dale Stephens was sent off for a foul on Greg Cunningham after 34 minutes.

Brighton defended resolutely until Sol Bamba - despite being in an offside position at one stage in proceedings - fired home a last-minute winner for Cardiff.

Dunk said: "It was very frustrating. We started the game really well and then conceded a poor goal.

"The sending-off changed the game. I haven't looked back on it yet, so can't say whether it was or wasn't but it had a massive effect on the game and I thought with ten men we did enough to get a point.

"They didn't have many chances and at the end, I thought it was offside and it was.

"It's not for me to say anything now, it's gone and we have to move on to after the international break but it's a very frustrating day."

Dunk will now link up with England on Monday ahead of matches with the United States and Croatia.

The 26-year-old is hoping to make his Three Lions debut and said: "England will obviously take this off my mind.

"I'll hopefully go away and have a good week with England, get some game time, come back and focus on Leicester after the international break.

"I've just got to go there and make sure I train well and hopefully I'll be in the starting team on Thursday."
