Liverpool stars praise Brighton's Anfield display
Mohamed Salah got the only goal of the game midway through the first half but the Seagulls had chances to equalise through Anthony Knockaert and Pascal Gross in the second period.
Full-backs Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold praised Albion's showing as the Reds were made to work hard to make it three wins from three to start their Premier League campaign.

Hide AdSpeaking to www.liverpoolfc.com, Robertson said: “If we’re being honest we probably weren’t at our best but these are the games that are so important to win, because when you’re not at your best and it’s not quite going according to plan then it’s important to go in front and obviously that’s what Mo did for us.
“Then we kept another clean sheet, which is so important. Brighton, I think they showed what a good team they are against Man United last week and they continued it.
“They came here and played football, they caused us problems, but we stood up to it and when we needed the goalkeeper he produced some really good saves. So we’re happy with the three points, but the performance could’ve been a lot better.”
Alexander-Arnold, who hit the bar with a free kick in the first half, added: "It’s the Premier League so not every game is going to be straightforward, especially today they had a lot of chances and we’re happy to keep the clean sheet and come away with the three points, which is the main thing.

Hide Ad“They came with a game plan. They tried to stop us from creating chances and they did that to a certain extent, but with the attacking force that we’ve got it’s hard to keep us out for the whole game. Mo showed that he only needed one chance really, and he took it and got the goal.
“We were pushing and we weren’t quite getting any joy from it and then out of nothing we win the ball high up, which is what we want to do, nick the ball and be lethal, which is what we want to be.”
