Today’s heavy rain has caused the postponement of the almost the entire Sussex County League schedule without a ball being kicked while Horsham FC’s Ryman South game away at Eastbourne Town has also been washed out.

Currently the only County League game not to fall foul of the weather of the 24 scheduled across the divisions on Saturday is Pagham’s home game against Chichester (correct at 1pm).

Most matches were called off after early inspections with pitches saturated by persistent overnight rain fall which continued this morning.

It is the second weekend of the football season to see nearly all the County League matches washed out.

Horsham were hoping to continue their recent rejuvenation by gunning for a third straight league win at The Saffrons, but the match was called off at around 11am.

The Hornets’ next match will be their Boxing Day game with Three Bridges at Gorings Mead which has an early 1pm kick off.
