It was a landmark moment for one Tye player – Cam Wiltshire – who was playing his 300th game for Peacehaven.
The first 10 minutes were scrappy and neither team could get a foothold. It was Ashford who started to take charge pushing Peacehaven back and defening deep.
They did have chances but it was 0-0 at half-time. After the break it was Ashford who hit first when their No9 Gary Lockyer put the ball into the net.
This seemed to put The Tye into a negative state of mind and they started to defend deep. Nine minutes later Ashford's Oli Bate made it 2-0 – then Lockyer was at it again in the 70th minute when a mix-up at the back left him to make it 3-0. The home side weren't done and captain Connor Tighe came close when a header that hit Ashford’s crossbar.
A few minutes later Finley Agnihotri met a cross and slid the ball home for 3-1. Five minutes into injury time Ashford’s Kareem Isiaka put the icing on the cake when he scored their fourth.
Peacehaven fared better on Tuesday when they battled to a 0-0 draw at home to Merstham. They are 13th in the league and visit fifth-placed Whitstable on Saturday.
