Tuck made more than 300 appearances for the Rocks, joining the club after departing Brighton & Hove Albion.

He made 43 appearances as the club earned promotion to National League South back in 2017, and was a crucial part of the squad who made it to the Semi-Finals of the FA Trophy the season before, running Grimsby Town close in their attempts to reach Wembley.

That same season the club made it to the play-offs, and Tuck played 36 games, scoring six goals.

Perhaps his finest moment in a white and green shirt was scoring the winner against Burgess Hill in the Sussex Senior Cup final.

Rocks boss Jack Pearce said: "It has been a pleasure to work with Doug, he has contributed massively to our cause during his time. We thank him enormously for services to the club and it goes without saying that we wish him all the very best for the future."

In the wake of Tuck's departure, the Bognor manager asked fans for a little patience as he and No2 Robbie Blake assemble their squad ahead of the new campaign. It is believed a couple of significant recruits are on the horizon to boost the squad after Amadaou Tangara, brothers Ashton and Tommy Leigh, Brad Lethbridge, James Crane, Harvey Whyte, Chad Field and Calvin Davies signed.

And Pearce added: "We are close to announcing some exciting signings and I say with some confidence that I believe that supporters will be pleasantly surprised at the calibre of player we are attracting.

"We are putting together a squad on a budget that has obviously been impacted upon by the Covid-19 pandemic. We have to be realistic. That said, of course we have been very lucky with the unbelievable efforts of supporters with more than £50,000 raised in our Crowdfunder appeal, and this money has been a big help as we try to navigate through these difficult times."
