Arundel Football Club made it two successive Southern Combination League Premier Division derby wins with an emphatic 4-1 away success at rivals Littlehampton Town this afternoon.

Mullets came back from a goal behind to seal all three points courtesy of strikes from Dave Herbert, Asa Nicholson, Max Thoms and Niall O’Hagan.

Arundel picked up all three points with a 2-1 success over Wick & Barnham last Tuesday and a fine showing made it two from two against another local rival in Golds just four days later.

Things didn’t start well for Mullets, though, as they fell behind on 28 minutes. George Gaskin’s clever chipped ball found Dean Janman on the right and his thunderous strike from a tight angle found the bottom corner.

Arundel weren’t behind for long and got themselves back on terms four minutes later. Herbert out muscled Josh Bates, before crashing a left-foot half volley into the top corner.

Nicholson then completed the turnaround three minutes prior to the break. He dispossessed Mitchell Hand in the centre of the park then embarked on a mazy run and then saw his strike parried home by Jon Hendrick.

Arundel had a third on the hour mark as their dominance was rewarded. Nathan DaCosta’s cross found Dan Teeder who then found Thoms who slotted past Hendrick.

A comfortable away success was then rounded off three minutes into stoppage-time. Dion Jarvis’ corner was headed home by an unmarked O’Hagan to make it four.
