Munday swaps Bexhill for Sidley

The combative midfielder put pen to paper with Sussex County Football League Division One outfit Sidley on Tuesday night.

Sidley manager John Lambert said: “He’s been away from here for 10 years, but he does love Sidley and he’s glad to be back. It’s good to get him as well. He’s quite an experienced player and he’s a big, solid lad.”

Munday, who has also played for Rye United, is a similar player to Sean Kelly, who last week opted to leave Sidley and return to Rye.

In an age when managers often complain about players not being straight or not communicating at all, Bexhill joint boss Jamie Podmore said: “Obviously it’s a loss, but he’s been honest with us right from the start.”

Last season’s 15-goal leading scorer Terry Payne also committed himself on Tuesday, and with Little Common duo Lewis Hole and Steve Morris already on board, Lambert now has plenty of attacking options at his disposal.

Other players to have signed include Kevin Bird, Mark Chandler, Harry Killick and Carl Morris, while Paul Tuppenney trained on Tuesday and last Thursday, and Scott McDonald has expressed an interest in joining.
