New Crawley stopper Morris will act as '˜cover and coach'

Crawley Town have confirmed the expected arrival on goalkeeper Glenn Morris on a one-year deal.

The former Gillingham and Leyton Orient stopper as reported yesterday has become Reds’ third summer signing.

The vastly experienced 32-year-old will also be the club’s goalkeeping coach.

Crawley head coach Dermot Drummy said: ““On the goalkeeping front, I think it was important we mixed someone that could cover and also coach, probably within the budget it’s a sensible decision to have someone that can not only coach, but can play if we get an injury in that specific position.

“He has been working towards his badges and what we want to do is develop him.”

The former Aldershot and Southend stick man has an option of a one-year extension to his contract.
