Pagham feel positive after holding Three Bridges

Things got better after 20 minutes when Temple was dragged to the floor at a corner and the referee awarded a penalty which top scorer Scott Murfin dispatched.

New signing Jo Briggs was having a fine game on the right for Pagham.

Three Bridges started the second half strongly and reduced the deficit on 56 minutes after a mix-up in the Pagham rearguard.

Bridges were reduced to ten men for the final 20 minutes when another foul on Briggs resulted in a second yellow for their big centre-half. However almost immediately Bridges were level when a long punt up field from the keeper resulted in Hyde and Booker colliding, leaving the speedy Bridges forward to beat 17-year-old keeper Binfield with ease.

Pagham were reduced to ten men as Joe Booker was sent off for a second yellow.

Far from this hindering Pagham, they drove forward looking for the winner. Murfin twice went close to finding it.

Lions boss John Price was disappointed with the goals conceded but said the signs were good for next year.

The Lions, who visit Lancing on Saturday, have taken ten points from 12 against the top two league sides with a very young squad.
