Picture special - Southwick 1882 return to football in style

Southwick 1882 FC carried on where they left off before Christmas when they beat Ridgewood 5-0 at Southwick Rec as they resumed their bid for promotion from the Mid Sussex League's Championship division.

Goals by Azza Watson (2), Jordon Groom, Rossy Myers and Tommy Johnston won it for Sammy Donnelly's team as players showed how delighted they were to be allowed to play again. The Mid Sussex Championship has been split into two seven-team mini leagues so as to get the season finished in time - and Southwick hope winning their league will be another step towards returning to the Southern Combination League and Old Barn Way. See pictures from the game by Stephen Goodger on this page and the ones linked and get all the local sport in the Worthing Herald, out on Thursday.
