Picture special - Wick take on Saltdean in the FA Vase

Wick suffered a third straight defeat and back-to-back cup exits when they were knocked out of the FA Vase by Saltdean United. But they were nit devoured by the Tigers and there were plenty of positives to take from their 2-0 reversal in the FA Vase second round qualifier at Crabtree Park.

Scott Rafferty, who has been signed from Pagham, enjoyed a steady home debut at right-back while Rob Wimble held the ball up well in attack allowing Johan van Driel to revert to midfield where he was able to combine more efficiently with Andy Chick. The Dragons took the game to a Saltdean side who recently hammered East Preston 8-0 and who are flying high at the top of the Southern Combination League Premier Division. The Tigers took the lead through a well-taken finish from Reece Halkard before half-time and Bradley Williams added a another midway through the second period.
