Pompey hit back at Doncaster to keep faint hopes alive


Futacs struck deep into injury-time to give the Blues a 4-3 win – and condemn Donny to League One.
It was a thrilling clash at the Keepmoat Stadium with the game swinging backwards and forth.

Hide AdPompey were relegated for long periods of the afternoon, and were woeful for 45 minutes.
They went in two down at half-time through goals from Habib Beye and Fabien Robert.
Ashley Harris’ second-half introduction invigorated Pompey though, and sparked the Blues to life.
Two Greg Halford penalties levelled the game – with Beye sent off for a professional foul on Kitson for the first.

Hide AdThen the dangerous Coppinger put the home side in front after 68 minutes.
That meant Donny were still surviving in the Championship and Pompey were down.
But then came the late, late drama with Kitson levelling in the 90th minute – despite appearing to impede Woods from a high ball into the area.
Then deep into stoppage time Futacs tucked away the winner following a scramble in the box.
That means Pompey are now seven points from safety with three games to go.
