Prior’s back again – and Hawks defender joins Bognor too

Bognor have secured another loan spell for Jason Prior - and this time it’s until the end of the season. They’ve also brought in a Havant defender on loan to help them out of their crisis at the back.

Prior’s return for his third Bognor loan spell of the campaign – which amounts to a continuation of his second one, which ended after Wednesda’ys game at Leatyherheead - is a huge boost.

Prior has made a big difference to the side’s form, especially at home, since his initial return in October and he has brought the best out of fellow forwards Ollie Pearce, Alex Parsons and Stuart Green.

Rocks secretary Simon Cook said: “Jason has signed on a long-term loan until the end of the season, following considerable negotiations over the past 24 hours between Margate, Bognor and Jason himself.

“The club are extremely grateful to Margate for their co-operation.”

Bognor have also signed experienced defender Ryan Woodford on a month’s loan from Havant and Waterlooville.

A product of Pompey’s Academy side, Woodford has been a key member of the Hawks’ defence over the past few seasons and has appeared 117 times for them.

Like Prior, he will be in the squad for Saturday’s match at home to Bury Town.

The Rocks have struggled for defensive cover recently – long-term injuries to Paul Hinshelwood and Daryl Wollers and niggles and illness suffered by James Crane have left them woefully short of options.
