The fly-half or full-back, who has played professionally for Ulster, was recommended to Raiders head coach Kieron Dawson by Kieran Campbell, the head of Ulster’s academy.

Dawson said: “Sean’s come through Ulster’s academy and has played a few first-team games as well.

“He likes to run with the ball a lot, which didn’t fit in with the way they play but it sounds like he’ll suit us.

“I’ve heard really good reports about him but he’s just got a bit disillusioned with professional rugby.

“He’s going to go to Brighton University and he wants to get back to enjoying his rugby and feels that Worthing is the place where he can do that.”

Joe Govett will also return to Roundstone Lane next season and Raiders have also signed fly-half Gareth Davies from Hove and two players from The Army, hooker Pete Austin and full-back Owain Davies.

Dawson added: “Things are looking pretty positive for next season and I’m very happy with where we’re at.”
