The former Portsmouth central defender was offered a new contract at the end of the League Two campaign but the two parties have failed to agree on the deal. The 24-year-old, made 71 league appearances for the Reds and scored two goals since joining in June 2014 when he was signed by previous manager John Gregory.

Both Bradley and Reds’ new head coach had seemed keen on striking a new deal when asked at the end of last season, but Drummy has revealed the centre-back will be leaving.

He said: “With Sonny Bradley, negotiations didn’t progress, so I think Sonny is probably going to look elsewhere.

“At the end of the day, the offer is the offer. If the player feels they can do better, then they have got their lives. That’s no problem and I accept that. I wish them all the best.

“He was a good professional and I got on fine with him in the ten to 12 days I was here, but we are in the real world. The real world is they have to look after themselves.”

On a search for a new captain, Drummy added: “The captain role will materialise when the squad get together, there is no real rush, whoever is captain doesn’t matter too much at the moment. We couldn’t agree terms.”
