Striker Mo Shug’aa went down with muscle spasms in his neck which rendered him unable to move without pain, but after being taken to hospital he was eventually discharged.

His manager John Suter explained: “Mo had muscle spasms in his neck which he’d never had before. What with no knowing if it was a spinal injury no-one wanted to move him, but thankfully he was discharged at 3am this morning with nothing serious.”

The incident happened in the 75th minute with Division 1 side Hassocks winning 3-0.

Suter added: “Although we were having a better second half we were never likely to get four goals back. I’m not sure what the league rules are but with the game all but over I hope the result stands.”
