Sussex non-league round-up: Worthing lose at Hampton – Eastbourne Borough claim Darts point – Whitehawk beat Bognor

Adam Hinshelwood’s side have bit a bit of a dip in their league form – even if they are doing well in cup competitions – and they were beaten 3-1 at Hampton and Richmond.

After a goalless first half Rob Hall and a Ben Seymour penalty put the Beavers 2-0 up. Danny Cashman got one back for the Rebels but Seymour quickly struck again to make the points safe and Alfy Whittingham rubbed salt in the wounds with a fourth in stoppage time.

Fletcher Holman gave Eastbourne Borough the lead at home to Dartford but the Kent side hit back to claim a point.

The results leave Worthing 11th and Borough 19th in the table.

In the Isthmian premier division Hastings’ second Chris Agutter era began in fine style as they won 2-1 at Margate. Sam Chapman gave Gate the lead just before the hour but an own goal levelled it and Davide Rodari strick the winner – just a day after Agutter was named as the replacement for Paul Barnes as boss.

Bognor scored first and last at Whitehawk but let in three in between to lose 3-2. Imran Kayani, Jack Dixon and Charlie Lambert scored for the Hawks while Danny Howick and – from the spot – Dan Gifford were on target for the Rocks.

In the Isthmian south east, Burgess Hill moved up to eighth spot thanks to a Dan Perry second half strike that meant Sevenoaks were beaten 1-0.

A Finlay Chadwick double looked to have put Littlehampton Town on course for a 2-1 win at Cray Valley but the hosts hit back to claim a point.

Lancing lost 3-0 at Sheppey – two of the hosts’ goals coming in the final few minutes.

In the first round of the FA Vase Callum Barlow, Max Thompson and Gary Ingram (2) scored to see Eastbourne United through to round two with a 4-1 win at home to Bearsted. Also through in the Vase are Roffey, who beat higher-division Lordswood 1-0 thanks to a late goal by Scott Faber.

Meanwhile in the SCFL premier Steyning Town went second with a 3-1 home win over Peacehaven.
