United back in action

After the euphoria of the FA Cup at the weekend, it’s back to the bread and butter of league action for Hastings United tonight (Tuesday).

The U’s will entertain Enfield Town in their first home Ryman Football League Premier Division match since September 1. Kick-off at The Pilot Field is 7.45pm.

It’s the first of seven games before the FA Cup second round clash away to Harrogate Town on December 1 and the first four of those are in the league.

While the excitement of the FA Cup is fantastic for the club and indeed the town, United player-manager Sean Ray will be eager to pick up some league points and start climbing the table.

The U’s have picked up just one point from their four league matches since the end of August and find themselves fourth-from-bottom, albeit with games in hand on most of the teams around them.

Enfield are three points and three places better off having played two more fixtures, but United will go above the north London outfit if they come out on top tonight. Follow @SimonNewstead on Twitter for match updates.
