The ladies dribbled a football for 49 miles around The Polegrove over two days to raise funds and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Kicking-off on Saturday just before 9am at The Polegrove, the squad enthusiastically jogged and dribbled the first set of seven miles.

The squad passed the 14-mile mark just after 1pm and took a break for refreshments funded by Hastings Direct before reaching the 28-mile mark approaching 7pm.

They returned on Sunday to complete seven more miles by midday. By 3pm most were hitting 42 miles in total and as the clock struck 5pm, the first squad member Rosa Donovan ran the last few laps to complete the event. By 6pm everyone had finished.

Funds are being totalled over the next few weeks, but the club looks to have beaten its £1,000 target for Pancreatic Cancer.

Bexhill United Ladies FC would like to thank Rother District Council, Bexhill Cricket Club, Bexhill United Football Club, Bexhill Bowls Club, Hastings Direct and all the residents of Bexhill who supported them.
