Weather wins again as West Sussex sport takes a hit

Heavy rain put paid to much of the sporting programme in West Sussex again today.

Wet weather has now hit four of the past six weekends in the area, giving football teams in particular some hefty backlogs of games.

County league games at Chichester and Selsey were among those lost to waterlogged pitches, with games involving Midhurst, Barnham, Bosham and Sidlesham also rained off.

It looked like Pagham’s visit to Dorking in division one would survive, with conditions further inland from the south coast not so bad.

The Rocks’ Ryman premier visit to Wealdstone was also still on.

We’ll have a round-up of local games that did survive on this website later.
