A 2-1 defeat at Leicester on Tuesday increased the Seagulls' winless run in the league to seven games as they remained 16th in the table and just three points above the relegation zone.

Ryan said the Albion players are their own harshest critics after the defeat and added they have to stay together to pick up enough points to remain in the Premier League.

Talking about the run of two points in seven matches, Ryan said: "It's disappointing. I'm not sure I'd use the word worrying because we've got plenty of games left to change that around.

"The only way you get through situations like this is through togetherness and hard work. We're going to leave no stone unturned in our quest to be staying up again this year.

"We'll look back to before that Christmas period when we put ourselves in a healthy position. We're still in a strong position to stay up and get the points we need.

"We need to individually take a look in the mirror and ask ourselves if we're doing enough and everything we can in order that when it comes round to a matchday we're going to be up for it and give everything we've got.

"We're our own harshest critics and we've got big characters in the changing room. We're always assessing our games and laying down the law on what needs to be done moving forward in order to get ourselves out of this situation.

"We're going to leave no stone unturned and will work as hard as we ever have before in order to get ourselves out of this situation.

"Come Huddersfield at the weekend, we're back at home. It's been kind to us in the past playing at home, we've made it a fortress and we need to go out there and take the game to them and do absolutely everything we can to win this game."
