Sporting Lindfield began the game very well, however as soon as Dan Tewkesbury had smashed home from twenty yards, it was one way traffic.

George Landais made it two with rasping shot across the keeper following a lovely weighted Hugo Corbin pass. George King then made it three, bundling home the ball after Kyle Penn had struck the post.

Sporting Lindfield had a positive fifteen minute spell at the start of the second half and could have pulled a goal back. Westfield and George Landais however had different ideas, Landais scoring from the edge of the area, before George King wrapped up a fantastic attacking display with a cross shot that found the bottom corner.

Man of the match award sponsored by A&R Bargains was given to Ben Ferguson for his midfield display.

Westfield Chairman Jack Stapley said: "Another impressive display from us today. On a small pitch we passed the ball around well and clipped the channels when needed. The front four worked so well together, interlinking and keeping the opposition on their toes the whole game. At times it was just relentless, I honestly think if the score was double figures they couldn’t have moaned.

"With Roberto Martellini to come back into the squad after suspension next week and Lee Paine off the back of a hattrick for the reserves we have serious fire power. I can’t remember an attacking threat at Westfield this good since Peter Baker, Joe Barham and David Pugh.

"We’re also due to welcome back Connor Benton Powell and Rob Higgins from a long term injury. The squad is so strong this year and there’s players all around the park vying for positions which is fantastic. The Reserves are doing well and there are players in there that are knocking on the door of the squad.

"The other pleasing part is that’s two clean sheets now. I’m pretty sure that took us until Christmas last year."
