What a cracker for Yapton!
Fittleworth Res 3, Yapton Res 5 West Sx Lge, Div 3(C) A strike worthy of goal of the season at any level was a feature of this match and it came from a Fittleworth player.
Yapton goalkeeper Jake Dean let fly with a clearance kick from his hands as he stood on the edge of his own box.
A home player, a couple of yards inside the Yapton half, hammered a first-time volley back over the stranded Dean and into goal, a distance estimated at over 50 yards.
It gave Fittlworth hope as it made the scoreline 4-3, but on 90 minutes Dan Bedford's through pass enabled Frazer Beamont to wrap it up for the visitors.
Earlier, it had been 2-2 at half-time with a headed own goal and another goal from the prolific Eddie Manwill to Yapton's credit.
After the break, Yapton were gifted another own goal, from Manwill's fierce cross, and Josh Dean hammered home a free kick before Beaumont settled it.
