Worthing star makes £6m switch from Southampton to Fulham

Harrison Reed has completed a £6m swith from Southampton to Fulham.

The 25-year-old from Worthing spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Fulham, had signed a four-year contract with the option to extend by a year, Fulham said.

He told the club website.“It’s going to be an exciting season, it’s a big challenge this year, but I can’t wait to get going. I’m absolutely delighted to be here,”

The 25-year-old was an integral part of Scott Parker’s promotion-winning side and played every minute of their three Championship play-off games.

Reed started at his career at Southmaption, making 17 starts before being sent out on loan to Norwich City, Blackburn and Fulham.

Worthing Herald columnist and former Worthing FC director Ian Hart said: "Good luck to Worthing’s very own Harrison Reed who has made a £6million switch from Southampton to Fulham after his season long loan at Craven Cottage saw him help the Cottagers return to the Premier League.

"Harrison deserves all the recognition he gets, not only a naturally gifted footballer, off the field he possesses that important quality in that he’s never forgotten his roots and his always kept his feet firmly on the ground."
