A brilliant solo goal by Remiero Moulton seven minutes from time looked to have put Adam Hinshelwood’s side on course for their first win in six National South games, but it was cancelled out by a Louis Britton’s close-range finish just as 90 minutes were up.
The point left Worthing fourth in the table but still only two points off top spot, currently held by Torquay.
Hinshelwood’s troops have a quick chance to go one better against Weston – they travel to the west country for the return fixture on Tuesday.
