GANDER LOOKS TOWARD DIV 1

WICK MANAGER Andy Gander believes he needs to strengthen all the main areas of his team for their return to the top flight of County football next season.

He said: "With Kane Evans coming back from injury, it will be like a new striker joining us. But, I would also like a central midfielder, an experienced defender and maybe a goalkeeper.

"I feel we limped over the finishing line rather than crashed through it, which is a bit disappointing. The team's mental approach sometimes hasn't been right.

"I was pretty cross on Saturday. The lads have worked tremendously well over the course of the season but since we have won promotion, I have expected better performances than we have produced.

"We seem to have problems against the lesser sides and that is something we will have to improve on."

For the first time this season, Wick conceded three goals on Saturday as Seaford waltzed into a 3-0 lead.

Dave Sharman pulled a goal back for Wick on 73 minutes when he converted from James Bennett's pass. Danny Curd then netted his 27th goal of the season four minutes later.
