Glynde squeeze home on spiteful pitch

Intersport of Lewes TrophyDPB (Eastbourne) 78 Glynde & Beddingham 79-9Glynde got home by one wicket on a spiteful pitch on which only Terry Penfold, who made 45 for DPB, made much progress, but he found little support as the host's were dismissed for 78, Dale Tranter taking 4-13 and Chris Blunt 2-21.

In reply Glynde struggled with Adam Davies scoring 18 and Dominic Shepheard 12, but tailender Ian Mepham saw them home with 11 not out. James Bentley took 3-12 and Martin Hanmer 3-19.

The Glynde 3rd XI beat Lewes Priory 3rd XI by 170 as they tallied 264-3, 16-year-old Michael Warren making 141, his first hundred for the club, and 15-year-old Matt Blunt adding 62 in a third-wicket partnership of 182. Priory were dismissed for 94.

The Glynde 2nd XI played a 40-over match against Ringmer, who made 188-9 with Lewis Gimple taking 3-35. In reply Glynde reached 185-8, Phil Harper hitting 46 not out, Peter Dunk 43, Lewis Gimple 29 not out and Mick Howarth 27.
