Golds begin hunt for their new boss

LITTLEHAMPTON Football Club have begun their search for a new manager to replace Carl Stabler, who quit as boss last week.

They are inviting anyone interested to apply in writing by June 12 (address below).

However, four local names have already ruled themselves out of the running.

Stabler's assistant at Golds, Brett Torode, favours coaching. He said: "I'm quite happy doing what I'm doing. It would be nice to be a manager but it's too time consuming."

And Stabler's Player-coach at Littleha-mpton, Gary Young is also not ready for management. He said: "I still want to carry on playing, if selected next season."
