GOLDS SUFFER FROM END OF SEASON BLUES

LITTLEHAMPTON manager Carl Stabler was disappointed with his side's work-rate in their defeat to mid-table Redhill on Saturday.

Stabler said: "We are suffering from the end of season blues at the moment. We didn't work hard enough and gave away two sloppy goals.

"We could still have won, though, if we had taken all our chances and not given them their goals.

"The only positive to take from the game was the performances of our substitutes."

Golds had lost both of their strikers to injury in the first half. Peter Brackley went off with a hamstring injury after just 15 minutes, then Mark Windsor got taken to hospital after a clash of heads. He was released Sunday morning.

A rare mistake from Golds' captain Gary Young gave Redhill their first goal, and following an error from keeper Alex Bryant, Redhill were 3-0 up in 51 minutes.

At the beginning of the second period Lee Gibbs missed two sitters to get Littlehampton back in the game. He headed an open goal wide then missed a one-on-one.
