Josh leads Angmering as they reach British finals

A SUPERB performance by Angmering’s Golf Academy on Thursday saw the team progress into the net competition final of the British Schools and Colleges National Collegiate League.

Two of their players – Josh Glossop and Jack Halsey – also reached the final of the individual Players Championship.

Glossop comfortably secured the Order of Merit in the final round at Ham Manor on Thursday, with the lowest gross round of the day of 67. That included a hole-in-one on the 13th, a 150-yard par-three.

Halsey needed a top-two finish to give him a chance of making the individual final and he did that with a score of gross 72, which sealed second place.

The other members of the Angmering team ensured that they progressed into the team final as Michael Williams shot net 67, Harry Worner net 68 and Elodie-Jane Yates net 69.

The team play at Princes Golf Club on April 24, while the Players Championship takes place on April 25.
