Cowdray’s two points came courtesy of wins from the opening and closing pairs. Cowdray’s captain for the day, Phil Harrison, partnered Rob Doney to a comfortable 3&2 win, while Brian Carpenter and David Tilley came up trumps by 2&1 in the closing match.
In between, the home pairs made their course knowledge pay with two good wins.
Cowdray have now amassed 11 points from their six matches, four of which have been away, but face a tough task to catch the current champions, Hankley Common, who have scored 21.5 points from nine matches, 11.5 of which were earned in their past three home matches.
