WE didn’t have the best of starts to our tipping efforts at the Goodwood May Festival - although we did pick out Fiftyshadesofgrey as a winner.

Our sports editor Steve Bone’s tips also included two runners-up and two third-placed horses, but we’re aiming for better on day two.

The highlight of the second day is the Cocked Hat Stakes, which is seen as a Derby trial, and our selection for that contest in Godolphin’s Derby contender Best Of Times.
