Glorious - the Qatar Goodwood Festival - has been nominated in the best campaign and events categories and racecourse staff have made the shortlist in the digital/social media excellence category.

The awards celebrate excellence and innovation on Britain’s racecourses and the ceremony takes place at Ascot Racecourse on Thursday, November 12.

A commission from fine art photographer Ripley was used to lead a campaign that used outdoor advertising, direct marketing, advertorials, press coverage and a significant investment in digital to introduce the inaugural Qatar Goodwood Festival.

The Qatar Goodwood Festival has also been nominated for the events category, reflecting the success of this festival fixture. Goodwood was proud to meet the challenge of maintaining the history and appeal of this event, while reflecting the input and culture of the new sponsor.

Finally, Goodwood looked at data insight to establish how people used digital and social platforms in order to grow its online presence and engage with current and prospective customers.

Alex Eade, general manager at Goodwood racecourse, said: ‘I am delighted that Goodwood has been nominated for three awards which are much coveted within the industry.

“The competition looks stiff so just to be nominated is testament to the great work from all the team here. Delivering such a large partnership for the first time brings added pressure especially when doing so within such an established brand as Goodwood.

“It was not without its difficulties so I am extremely proud to have been part of the first Qatar Goodwood Festival and the fantastic team that helped organise it. I look forward to an even more spectacular event next year.”

At the end of the evening one racecourse will be named overall showcase champion, as decided by an independent judging panel.
