Hailsham Tennis Club's ladies' first team were in action at home to second-in-the-table Crowborough.

First pair Narun Chea and Stacey Clay started against the Crowborough second pair Zoe Livesey and Chris Taylor, trading game for game in the first set until it came to a tie break, which the away team won. In the second set, Narun and Stacey lost 3-6.

Second pair Jo Coe and Hayley Allender struggled against the Crowborough first pair Julie Spivey and Laura Cooper, losing 1-6, 4-6.

In the reverse legs, Jo and Hayley put up a strong resistance, but Zoe and Chris prevailed 7-5, 6-3.

Narun and Stacey won their first set against Julie and Laura 6-2, only for the Crowborough pair to come back to win the second set 6-4. That took the rubber to a championship tiebreak (first to 10 points), which the away pair won 10-6, giving the Crowborough team a 4-0 win.

That was the Hailsham Ladies' last game of the winter season, and their early form kept them out of the relegation places in their table.
