Hamilton saves Rebels in time!

AFTER SOME dark moments of doubt, it seems that Worthing's season has finally begun in earnest '” albeit a few weeks late '” thanks to new boy Lewis Hamilton's injury-time debut goal.

Hamilton, formerly with Derby County and Aldershot, comes on a month's loan from Conference South Lewes, along with left-sided player Lewis Cook, who hurt Rebels in Basingstoke's colours last season. Full-back Tarkan Mustafa, however, was discarded by Worthing last week and then striker Stafford Browne after Saturday's defeat at Harrow.

It may have only been a single point won at home, but the nature of this performance was one to lift the spirits. Rebels came back from a hopeless opening half-hour and a goal deficit to put the promotion-chasing visitors to the sword relentlessly, and survive the sending off of Lewis Cook to grab their late redemption. They deserved more.
