Hannah living Olympic dream

Hastings Seagull’s number one female freestyle swimmer is gunning for a place in the Olympics.

Hannah Keen will compete in the Great Britain National Championships next Friday (March 9) for the opportunity to represent Team GB in London this summer.

She said: “My only goal at the British Championships is to enjoy the moment. The experience of swimming at the new London Aquatics Centre will be incredible.

“They’re treating it as a trial run for the Olympics, meaning I’ll have a real insight to what it’s going to be like for the country’s elite swimmers in the summer.”

Hannah earned the right to be there by swimming a PB of 26.73 for the 50m freestyle at the Winter South East England Regional Championships in Aldershot late last year, beating the qualifying time of 26.88.

“To walk away from the event to say I’ve made a PB in the Olympic pool would just be amazing and if I achieve that then I’ll know I couldn’t have done any more,” the 25-year-old continued.
