Harry sets sights on place in junior team

Fernhurst rider Harry Dzenis put in an outstanding performance when he travelled to Northern Ireland recently as a member of the squad for the Junior British Eventing team.

Competing with his horse Spider, he was unluckly to have a technical refusal, which cost him the win and put him back into 12th position.

Harry (15) had travelled to Enniskillen for the championship and was competing in the cross country section of the horse trials in pouring rain when his reins slipped at one of the three water complexes.

He lost his steering and the horse jumped an extra and more difficult fence but in returning to the correct route, crossed the track he had already ridden, which is not allowed, earning him 20 penalties.

It was particularly disappointing for Harry because he had been working hard on Spider's dressage and had achieved the best dressage he had ever had.
